Package OverviewThe Langtang Gosaikunda trek combines the beautiful Langtang Valley trek with the sacred Gosaikunda lakes, making it one of the most rewarding treks in Nepal. This trek takes you through picturesque landscapes, glaciers, lush forests, traditional villages, and offers breathtaking views of the Himalayan Mountains.
Trip ItineraryAfter breakfast, we drive through a scenic highway form Kathmandu to Syabrubesi, which is a small village and the starting point of our Trek. The drive takes approx. 7-8 hours under normal road condition. During the drive, we can see snowcapped mountains, local villages, picturesque landscape, paddy fields and terraces.
Overnight: Guesthouse in Syabrubesi
Early after breakfast, start your trek by following the Langtang River. The steep uphill trail passes through terraced arms, dense forest and several small settlements like Bamboo and Rimche. Along the way, we might also spot rare local wildlife like Red Panda.
After approx. 6 hours, we will reach the Lama Hotel where we will rest for the night.

After breakfast, we ascend gradually to Langtang Village through rhododendron and pine forests. Along the way, we will also catch glimpses of the snowy peaks of Langtang Lirung. The trail follows the green and wide meadows to Ghoda Tabela (literal meaning: Horse Stable) where we get the stunning view of the Langtang Range.
After 6-7 hours’ trek, we will reach Langtang Village, a traditional Tamang Village.
After breakfast, we will head towards Kyanjin Gompa, which takes about 3-4 hours. Kyanjin Gompa is a significant monastery that was once the largest settlement of the region; it is mostly abandoned now after being affected by the 2015 earthquake.
Along the way, we will pass through many small watercourses, villages, streams, and the mani-prayer wall. The trail offers breathtaking views of surrounding mountain ranges. Upon arrival at Kyanjin Gompa, we can explore the monastery and the local cheese factory.
The trek from Langtang valley to Kyanjin Gompa is short but enough for acclimatization. Today we will take our time to rest and explore around.
Optionally, you can explore the monastery and cheese factory or hike up the moraine to witness the stunning ice faces and cascading glaciers of Langtang Lirung. We can also hike up to Kyanjin Ri (4773m) or Tserko Ri (4985m) which are the highest point in this trek, located just behind the village for a breathtaking panoramic view of the Langtang peaks.
Overnight will be at Kyanjin Gompa.
After breakfast, we will descend back towards Lama Hotel following the same scenic trail.
After approx. 6 hours, we will reach Lama Hotel.
After breakfast, we will trek back to Thulo Syabru, which is a beautiful Tamang village with impressive mountain views. The trail will take us through rhododendron and bamboo forest and local villages. After approx. 6-7 hours, we will reach Thulo Syabru.
From Thulo Syabru, we will ascend through rhododendron and pine forests, pass by the Garta Village and reach Sing Gompa, where will find a local cheese factory and Buddhist Monastery. The trail gives us the mesmerizing view of the Langtang Himalayan Range and Ganesh Himal.
The trek takes about 6-7 hours.
After a hearty breakfast, we will start our trek to Gosaikunda. The trek gradually ascends uphill via rugged and narrow trail, where we walk through barren hills and encounter cold breeze.
After approx. 3 hours, we will reach Lauri Binayak (3920 m) where we get panoramic view of Langtang Lirung, Ganesh Himal, Manaslu and Langtang Ri. We can stop for a lunch break.
Before reaching Gosaikunda, we will pass by Shakyamuni Temple, and other smaller lakes (Saraswati Kunda, Bhairav Kunda, and Surya Kunda). We reach Gosaikunda Lake after approx. 3-4 hours. We can explore the lakes and surrounding area.
Local people believe that Lord Shiva created the Gosaikunda. Many Hindu pilgrimages visit this place to worship and bathe during the full-moon festival every August.
Early morning after breakfast, we will start our trek back to Sing Gompa via Lauri Binayak where we get to see stunning mountain views. We will follow back the same trail through the pine forest. Along the way, we might also spot different protected birds like Wood Snipe, Snow Partridge, Tibetan Snow Cock, etc. After about 6 hours, we will reach Sing Gompa where we rest for the night.
Today we will trek back to Dhunche enjoying the alluring views of mountains and the flavorful cheese of Chandanbari while hiking downhill.
After about 7 hours, we will reach Dhunche.
After breakfast, we will drive back to Kathmandu, passing various terraces, streams, rivers, local settlements, high hills, and along the Trishuli riverside.
