Beginning with a thrilling flight to Lukla, the trek follows the beautiful Dudh Koshi River valley, passing through traditional Sherpa villages, pine forests, prayer flags, mani stones, and suspension bridges. The route leads to Namche Bazaar, the lively heart of the Khumbu region. An acclimatization hike to Syangboche Yak Farm and the world-famous Everest View Hotel offers unforgettable panoramic views of Everest and surrounding peaks. The trek concludes with a scenic return to Lukla and a flight back to Kathmandu, leaving trekkers with lasting Himalayan memories.
Trip ItineraryYour adventure begins with a breathtaking 30-minute flight from Kathmandu or Ramechhap to Lukla, offering spectacular views of the Himalayas. Upon arrival in Lukla, the gateway to the Everest region, you'll begin your trek with a gentle descent along the Dudh Koshi River valley. The trail meanders through pine forests and charming Sherpa villages, crossing suspension bridges draped with prayer flags. You’ll pass mani stones and fluttering chortens before arriving in the peaceful riverside village of Phakding, where you’ll spend the night.
Trek Duration: 3–4 hours
Overnight: Phakding
After breakfast, the trail leads deeper into the Khumbu region, continuing along the Dudh Koshi River. You’ll cross several iconic suspension bridges, including the famous Hillary Bridge, before reaching Monjo, the entrance to Sagarmatha National Park. After permit checks, begin the challenging climb through pine forests toward Namche Bazaar. Along the way, catch your first glimpse of Everest if weather permits. By afternoon, you'll reach Namche — the vibrant Sherpa capital, full of colorful shops, bakeries, and stunning mountain views.

Today is a rest and acclimatization day, but it still offers spectacular experiences. Start with a short uphill hike to Syangboche, a scenic ridge above Namche. Visit the Syangboche Yak Farm and Breeding Center to observe yaks in their natural high-altitude environment and learn about their cultural and economic role in Sherpa life. Continue to the famed Everest View Hotel — one of the highest-altitude hotels in the world — for sweeping views of Everest, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, and Thamserku. After enjoying the vistas, descend back to Namche for a relaxed evening.

Overnight: Namche Bazaar
Retrace your steps down the scenic Dudh Koshi valley. As you descend, the trail passes through alpine forests, Sherpa hamlets, and Buddhist monuments. The warmer air and familiar sights create a reflective and enjoyable final trekking day. After crossing several suspension bridges and descending through Monjo and Phakding, you'll reach Lukla by late afternoon. Celebrate the end of your trek with your guides and porters, reminiscing about the days spent in the shadows of the Himalayas.

Overnight: Lukla
Take an early morning flight back to Kathmandu (or Ramechhap), bidding farewell to the mountains. Soak in the final aerial views of the snowy peaks as you conclude your Himalayan adventure. Once in the city, you'll have time to relax or continue your onward journey.
