Package Overview

The 5 Days Annapurna Base Camp (ABC) Trek is a rewarding Himalayan adventure designed for trekkers with limited time who still wish to experience the grandeur of Nepal’s high mountains. Starting from the beautiful lakeside city of Pokhara, the trek takes you through traditional villages, lush rhododendron and bamboo forests, cascading waterfalls, and dramatic river valleys before reaching the heart of the Annapurna Sanctuary.

The journey gradually ascends through Jhinu, Sinuwa, Deurali, and Machhapuchhre Base Camp, finally leading to Annapurna Base Camp (4,130 m)—a spectacular natural amphitheater surrounded by some of the world’s highest peaks. Along the way, trekkers experience rich Gurung and Magar culture, warm teahouse hospitality, and breathtaking mountain scenery. The trek concludes with a relaxing descent and a scenic drive back to Pokhara, making it an ideal short yet immersive Himalayan experience.

Trip Itinerary

Day 1

On the first day of the 5-day Annapurna Base Camp Trek, you will drive from Pokhara to Jhinu. The scenic drive takes you along beautiful hillsides, offering mesmerizing views of rivers, waterfalls, and terraced farmlands. The captivating landscape will keep you engaged throughout the journey. After about 2 to 2.5 hours, you will arrive at Jhinu Danda, a place well-known for its natural hot springs.
 
After a short rest in Jhinu, you will continue your trek towards Sinuwa, a picturesque village in the Annapurna region. The trail passes through tranquil rhododendron forests, where you’ll catch stunning glimpses of Machhapuchhre (Fishtail) and Annapurna South. Gradually ascending a series of stone steps, you’ll reach Chhomrong Village, and from there, descend to a peaceful river before taking an uphill trail that leads to Sinuwa.
 
Sinuwa is famous for its panoramic views of Machhapuchhre and Hiunchuli peaks. The village features charming traditional houses and terraced fields, and is home to the Gurung and Magar communities. Here, you’ll have the opportunity to experience their warm hospitality and vibrant culture, adding depth to your trekking experience. Your first night of the trek will be spent at a traditional teahouse in Sinuwa.

Day 2

On the second day of your trek, your destination will be Deurali. After enjoying a wholesome breakfast at your teahouse, you will begin your trek around 8:00 AM. The trail initially leads you through dense, serene forests before descending along stone-paved steps to reach Bamboo. Here, you can take a short break to relax, soak in the tranquility of nature, and admire the pristine beauty of your surroundings.
 
As you continue, you’ll pass by cascading waterfalls, whose refreshing sound adds a rejuvenating rhythm to your journey. The trail winds through lush bamboo and rhododendron forests, eventually bringing you to Dovan. From there, you’ll follow the forested path to Himalaya, a scenic stop surrounded by verdant hills and dense woods. This area is popular among trekkers for its peaceful atmosphere and opportunities to interact with friendly locals.
 
Continuing onward, the path ascends steeply toward Hinko Cave, after which you’ll traverse a rocky moraine and a landslide-prone section before finally arriving at Deurali. This serene mountain village rewards you with breathtaking views of Hiunchuli, Machhapuchhre (Fishtail), and the Annapurna ranges. Your overnight stay will be at a cozy teahouse in Deurali.

Day 3

On this day, you will begin your journey to Annapurna Base Camp early in the morning. The trail steadily ascends along the banks of the Modi River, offering stunning views as you make your way upward. After about two hours of trekking, you will reach Machhapuchhre Base Camp (MBC), where you’ll be rewarded with breathtaking vistas of Machhapuchhre (Fishtail), Gangapurna, and Annapurna.
 
From MBC, the trail continues through a dry moraine, gradually leading you to your ultimate destination—Annapurna Base Camp (ABC). After another two hours of trekking, you will arrive at this pristine site, situated at an elevation of 4,130 meters. The base camp is encircled by an awe-inspiring amphitheater of towering peaks, including Annapurna I, Annapurna South, Machhapuchhre, Gangapurna, and Pisang Peak.
 
The serene beauty and powerful presence of these Himalayan giants create an atmosphere that words can hardly capture. Take time to celebrate this extraordinary achievement, soak in the majestic surroundings, and capture memorable photographs. You will spend the night at a teahouse in Annapurna Base Camp, enjoying the warmth and tranquility amidst one of the most spectacular mountain settings in the world.

Day 4

On this day, you will trek back to Bamboo. Begin your morning early—around 5:00 AM—to witness a spectacular sunrise over the Himalayas. Watching the first rays of sunlight illuminate the snow-clad peaks in golden hues is an unforgettable experience. After enjoying this breathtaking view, have breakfast at the base camp and begin your descent towards Bamboo.

The trail offers mesmerizing scenery throughout the journey, allowing you to savor every step as you retrace your route through Machhapuchhre Base Camp, Himalaya, and the enchanting Hinko Cave. The peaceful atmosphere, cascading waterfalls, and lush forests make this return trek equally rewarding.

By afternoon, you will arrive at Bamboo, a charming village surrounded by dense greenery and offering captivating views of the Annapurna ranges. Once there, you can head to your designated teahouse to rest and unwind after a fulfilling day on the trail.

Day 5

On this day, you will trek back to Jhinu. After enjoying a hearty breakfast at your teahouse, your journey will begin around 8:00 AM. The trail from Bamboo takes you through the scenic villages of Sinuwa and Chhomrong, offering wonderful views of the surrounding hills and valleys. From Bamboo, you’ll ascend gradually to Upper Sinuwa, and then descend toward the river, crossing an exciting suspension bridge before continuing for about an hour to reach Chhomrong.

After a brief rest in Chhomrong, surrounded by picturesque teahouses and stunning views of the Annapurna range, you will descend toward Jhinu Danda, renowned for its natural hot springs—a perfect spot to relax after days of trekking. Continuing along the trail, you’ll cross a new bridge and pass through charming villages and terraced fields, enjoying scenic views of rivers and lush hillsides. The trek concludes at Nayapul, from where you’ll take a scenic drive back to Pokhara for an overnight stay at a comfortable hotel, marking a delightful end to your Annapurna Base Camp adventure.
